The GM-era twins are actually Daewoos
Forenza and Reno are rebadged Daewoos from Suzuki’s GM partnership era, with their own parts channels and their own (humbler) durability story. We triage those by value, honestly.
Timing chains and cooling on the 2.4/2.7
Higher-mileage Grand Vitara and XL-7 engines show documented chain-stretch and cooling-age patterns. Rattles and temp creep get diagnosed promptly — both are manageable caught early.
